KQED
“KQED is a purpose-bound and mission-aligned organization. We exist to inform, inspire and involve because an informed, inspired and involved citizenry is the foundation of a healthy democracy.”
UpTech Studio helped KQED “re-imagine, re-architect and rebuild their Android and iOS apps using Flutter” (blog).
As part of the development team at UpTech Studio, I helped implement features such as the live radio and podcast streams and user preferences and customization.
Tech Stack
Front-end
The KQED application was written for iOS and Android using the Flutter SDK, allowing our team to quickly iterate on new features and deploy to the app stores with a single, shared codebase.
Back-end
The backend was a simple REST API built using the Hono framework on the Deno runtime.
Integrations
The mobile application was integrated with StreamGuys and their SGRewind service to enable scrubbing of the live audio streams.
